Donald J. Sutkus

Don Sutkus is a graduate of the prestigious traditional furniture making program at the North Bennet Street School in Boston and has studied relief carving with Jamaican master wood carver Clive Hamilton. He has been crafting fine furniture professionally since 2002.

Don enjoys educating others about his craft and has taught beginning and intermediate woodworking classes in the past. He also gives lectures on traditional furniture making and does demonstrations at various festivals and fairs.

In addition to his craft education, Don holds a B.S. and M.S. in engineering from the University of Michigan and worked in the engineering field for nine years prior to becoming a full-time furniture maker. He lives in Seattle Washington with his wife, two young children and the family dog and he enjoys spending his spare time outdoors with family and friends.
